As I wasn't there, this report from Carmarthen Harriers website...thanks to Nathan Jones.

It was the older U17 and U20 athletes' chance to shine on Sunday as the West Wales composite's team of runners, jumpers and throwers from Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen, Neath and Llanelli's journey continued in the UK Youth Development League Premier West Division. The final match of this year's exciting competition was held across the Severn Bridge at Yeovil Athletics Club and again came up against strong opposition from Cardiff, Yeovil & Wells City, Team Avon, Team Durham & Cornwall, and South East Wales.

It promised to be a fine final round spectacle of Premier League Junior athletics and the athletes involved did not disappoint.

Following on from the region's win at the home match in Carmarthen last month, The West Wales team performed well despite having some on the usual holidays and other activities. They finished strongly to retain their place in the premier division next year with a fourth position overall after the 4 matches which has seen them this year travel far to the South West of England for meetings.

Here are the Pembs Harriers' Stars who were part of Team West Wales....Lucy Davies ; Esme Greer ; Eliza Martin ; Lucy Omnet ; Amy Rothero ; Lydia Thomas ; Aaron John ; Joey Mathias ; Caleb Nicholas ; Hedd Nicholas ;Steffan Rees ;  Daniel Salmon ; Patrick Smith ; Shaun Zygadlo

With their place secure in the top division, West Wales along with Cardiff AC will be joined in the 2017 season by Swansea Harriers, who were promoted from the West 1 division as runners up to Cheltenham Harriers AC which also was completed on Sunday in Newport Stadium. Congratulations to the three Welsh teams for successful last few months and look forward to doing it all again next summer.
