On yet another wet and miserable Welsh weekend, several Pembrokeshire Harriers and support troops headed to NIAC (National Indoor Arena Centre) for the Welsh Senior Indoor Championships which also featured some junior events. Once again, the few Harriers excelled themselves in front of a packed house winning medals and gaining pb's.

A special mention to Finley Bruce on his first Indoor Champs where he did really well against more experienced athletes. Grace Griffiths smashed her indoor 1500m time with a very strong run. Dylan Phillips threw well for a Silver Medal in the Shot with a new pb. He also qualified for the 800m Final. Chloe Fox went one better than Dylan by winning Gold in the U17 Women Shot also with a new pb. Thea Jenkins jumped for Gold in the U20 High Jump. She was joined in the competition by Abi Buxton who gained Silver in the Sen Women category. Lucy Omnet ran a steady race to claim Silver in the U20 Women 1500m. Finally, Matthew Williams ran on his "home" track( in Pembrokeshire colours though ) and held on for a great Bronze medal.

Also during the day, the Welsh Athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games in Australia were introduced to the crowd who gave them a rousing reception. Amongst the proud athletes was our own Race Walker, Heather Lewis, who has gained a well earned place in the team. Well done her !! Also mentioned was top Sprint Hurdler, David Omoregie, who competed for Pembs Harriers for several years as a junior.
