Last Saturday, 5 Pembrokeshire Harriers athletes travelled to Cardiff for the Welsh Indoor Championships. This event was brought forward a month this year not giving the atletes much chance to practice all the required events. However, this did not deter them as they all performed "out of their skins"

U16 G Flavia Jenkins came a very creditable 8th out of 25. A pb in the 60m Hurdles (9.95s) and a massive pb of 1.47m in the High Jump.

U16 B Dylan Phillips scooped the Bronze with a fantastic overall display. Pb's in 60m Hurdles (9.22s), Long Jump (5.34m) and 200m (24.72s) gained him not only 3rd place, but  selection for the Welsh Combined Events team heading off to Glasgow in November. Well done Dylan !

U13 B Jamie Zygadlo had a very good event finishing 4th out of 13 athletes. Jamie had pb's in 60m Hurdles (10.24s), Long Jump (4.31m) and 800m          (2m 57.7) and just missed out on the Bronze medal.

U13 G Lucy Wintle, came 4th out of 18 athletes and another one who just missed out on the Bronze. Lucy had pb's in 60m Hurdles (10.88s) and Shot (5.87m). She then finished off the day in style by smashing her 800m pb by 6s (2m 34.04) and was the quickest U13 G over that distance.

Grace Griffiths came 17th in her first indoor combined events competition. Unfortunately, Grace had a slip up in the hurdles which took away from some of her later events apart from the 800m where she had 3rd fastest time. Hurdling is hard and every good hurdler slips up from time to time. In Grace's instance, she showed guts to continue with the race where some might have given up. All thes experiences will stand her in good stead for the future.
