After a fantastic evening at the annual Pembrokeshire Harriers awards 6 athletes, their coaches and supporters set off bright and early for the Welsh Athletics/Welsh Schools indoor combined events competition at NIAC at Cardiff Met. 

All the athletes did brilliantly competing in diverse events some of which were quite new to them.  There were lots of personal best.  Every athlete put in a tremendous effort and were a credit to the blue and yellow vest of Pembrokeshire Harriers. 

Under 14’s Dan Isaac,  William Harries and Oscar Willington were competing in a quadrathon.  It was their first time at a combined event competition.  They competed in shot putt, 60m hurdles, long jump and 800m.   All 3 boys were fantastic finishing in 8th, 14th and 18th place.  They had a great time supporting each other and their older team mates.

Lucy Wintle competed in the U16 girls Pentathalon.  She had to compete in long jump, high jump, 60m hurdles, 800m and shot putt.  She achieved amazing results finishing 2nd at the end of the day gaining her a place to compete for Wales at the Combined Events International in Glasgow.

Liam Topp competed in his first U16 Pentathlon.  He competed in 60m hurdles, 200m, 800m, long jump and shot putt.  He finished 4th overall and has also been selected to represent Wales in Glasgow. 4th 

 Flavia Jenkins competed in the U18 Pentathlon.  She finished in bronze medal position and will also be heading off to Glasgow to compete for Wales.

 As a result of their excellent performances, Lucy, Liam and Flavia have been chosen to represent Wales at the SIAB Combined Events International in Glasgow
