On Sunday 15th May 33 Harriers athletes travelled to Swansea for the West Wales Championships. As a club, we've had a lot of success at these Champs over recent years and 2016 was no exception. What a great day for the athletes, family and friends. Lots of success with many medals won, many pb's achieved A Welsh Record and a few Club Records broken. There were so many great performances that it would be unfair to pick out any individuals. However, one performance which has to be mentioned out of all the good ones on Sunday....James Tomlinson had a throw of 58.93m which is not only a new Welsh Record ( he broke it a couple of times today ) but puts him as No1 in Europe for his age group. Also, Lydia Thomas broke the U17W 300m Hurdles Club Record.

Well done to all of you...even those who didn't make the top three gave it their all and helped to make it another excellent day for Pembrokeshire Harriers.

Also, thanks to Louisa Davies, Laurence Worth and Sharon Kite who officiated on ther day as well as usual stalwarts, Brian and Sue Alvey

Overall, the Club's athletes won 46 Medals.....20 GOLD  ;  8 SILVER  ;  18 BRONZE !!

The nub..... A great effort all round by ALL those who took part. A time to wax lyrical

Thirty Three Pembs Harriers

Went off to play

At the West Wales Champs

Down by Swansea Bay.

They ran, jumped and threw

V/fast,  v/far,  v/long

All trying to win

 A shiny square gong

Gold, Silver or Bronze

A nice, shiny perk

For dedicated athletes

And all their hard work

But, it’s not just the winning

It’s the taking part

Using all parts of your body

But especially the heart

So, as long as you’ve tried

And you’ve given your all

A PB’s just as good

Makes you feel just as tall

So, well done all athletes

Who gave it their best

Who left the track smiling

In their Pembrokeshire vest.
