Steeplechase Workshops

Welsh Athletics National Endurance Programme

Saturday 17th March 1000-1600

Sunday 8th April 1000-1600

Venue: either Cardiff OR Newport (to be confirmed)

The Welsh Athletics National Endurance Programme is excited to announce two steeplechase workshops. These will be delivered by Rob McKim, UKA Endurance Coach Level 4, who is one of UK’s leading steeplechase coaches.

The workshops will have lots of practical work, discussion, observation, involvement, be inclusive and explore the progression of coach and athlete through a season and longer. Video and other materials will support the learning.

Steeplechase is an event where Welsh Athletics believes it can target success. Ieuan Thomas competed in the 2017 IAAF World Championships. Ieuan will be joined in steeplechase by Jonathan Hopkins in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Among our development athletes, Remi Adebiyi, Ben Thomas and Ffion Higginson all won medals in the 2017 England Championships, while Lucy Davies was a 2016 England U17 steeplechase champion.

U17/U20/Senior - to attend both workshops if you can

Let us know in advance if you have any particular technical needs, as this can help fashion the workshop content

All endurance coaches welcome and encouraged to attend, whether or not you are coaching steeplechase athletes at this time

A confirmation email with further details will be sent to all those attending.
